Join us between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 1, 2020 at Palm Springs High School for the Singing the Birds bird song festival that brings together Southern California and other tribes once a year to sing and dance. The bird songs are an important part of Native culture for tribes in Southern California and neighboring regions.
Bird Songs tell the stories of the Cahuilla migration and the lessons learned along the way. Traditionally, about 300 songs were sung in order to tell the story and began at dusk.
This free, family friendly event features bird singing and dancing, Native American history, culture as well as arts & crafts. Food vendors are also a popular part of the event. The festival runs throughout the day, so drop by any time.
